Beverly Winn, the principal of St. Catherine of Siena School, banks on the money made every year from selling fireworks. For more than 20 years, the Rialto Catholic school has set up a booth in the community to sell safe-and-sane fireworks, legal fireworks items approved by the Office of the California State Fire Marshal, Winn said. The dollars go directly to the school's preschool- through eighth-grade classes, paying for textbooks and other needs.
